It’s a fact that most kids find road trips pretty boring and bored kids can make it a pretty painful journey for everyone. But, with a bit of forward planning, you can come up with some road trip games to help while away the hours in the car. Here are a few suggestions - just make sure you have a stash of small prizes to give out to the winners!
Counting games Give each person a colour and then let them count how many cars of that colour they see. Or, for older children, give them a letter or a number to look out for on licence plates. You can also do this with branded trucks, buses or any specific vehicle. If your kids are old enough to know their cars, give each of them a particular make and model, for example a Citroen C4, to look out for. In each case, the first person to reach 10 wins the game.
