Sail is one important part of your boat that needs serious maintenance. It is suggested for you to fold the sail regularly after sailing season. For example, you should fold the sail right after you finish the particular event like race.
Generally, many racing sails are fragile so these are designed with a heavy surface coat of resin and some others with Mylar, a high tech fiber. The function of the heavy coat of resin or Mylar is to support the sail’s shape while holding the light or even moderate winds.
Therefore, there are several steps given to help you give proper maintenance to the sails as well as to keep them in shape. First of all, you must remove the traditional or full length battens and then fold the mainsail.
